DENTON, Texas – Voter turnout for young adults has reached record lows in recent years, according to the Campus Vote Project.
That’s one reason Adam Alattry, student body president at University of North Texas, said student groups decided to hold a voter registration drive on campus in January.
This is the first time the Student Government Association partnered with other campus political groups, including the College Democrats and North Texas College Republicans.
Alattry said plans for the drive began last November, and the group registered 250 students during the event.
